Analysis of the current situation of the rubber track industry

Rubber tracks are tracks made of rubber and skeleton materials, which are widely used in construction machinery, agricultural machinery and military equipment.

Analysis of the current situation of the rubber track industry

Rubber tracks were first developed by The Japanese Bridgestone Corporation in 1968. Originally designed to address the agricultural combine metal tracks that are easily clogged with straw, wheat straw and dirt, rubber tires that slip in paddy fields, and metal tracks that can cause damage to asphalt and concrete pavements.

China’s rubber track development work began in the late 1980s, has been in Hangzhou, Taizhou, Zhenjiang, Shenyang, Kaifeng and Shanghai and other places successfully developed a variety of agricultural machinery, engineering machinery and conveyor vehicles for a variety of rubber tracks, and formed a mass production capacity. In the 1990s, Zhejiang Linhai Jinlilong Shoes Co., Ltd. developed and patented an annular non-joint steel wire curtain rubber track, which laid the foundation for China’s rubber track industry to comprehensively improve quality, reduce costs and expand production capacity.

At present, there are more than 20 rubber track manufacturers in China, and the gap between product quality and foreign products is very small, and it also has a certain price advantage. Most of the enterprises producing rubber tracks are in Zhejiang. Followed by Shanghai, Jiangsu and other places. In terms of product application, the construction machinery rubber track is formed as the main body, followed by agricultural rubber tracks, rubber track blocks, and friction rubber tracks. It is mainly exported to Europe, North America, Australia, Japan and South Korea.

From the perspective of output, China is currently the world’s largest producer of rubber tracks, and exports to many countries around the world, but the product homogenization is serious, the price competition is fierce, and it is urgent to enhance the value of products and avoid homogenization competition. At the same time, with the development of construction machinery, customers put forward more quality requirements and higher technical indicators for rubber tracks, and the specifications and functional changes are becoming more and more diverse. Rubber track manufacturers, especially local Chinese companies, should actively improve product quality to make their products attractive in the international market.
