Excavator accessories – the key to extending the service life of the rubber track!

Crawler rubber track is generally one of the easily damaged accessory in excavators. What should be done to extend their service life and reduce replacement costs? Below, we will introduce the key points to extend the service life of excavator tracks.

1. When there is soil and gravel in the excavator tracks, the angle between the excavator boom and the bucket arm should be changed to maintain it within 90 °~110 °; Then, place the bottom of the bucket on the ground and rotate one side of the track in suspension for several turns to completely detach the soil or gravel inside the track. Then, operate the boom to lower the track back to the ground. Similarly, operate the other side of the track.

2. When walking on excavators, it is advisable to choose a flat road or soil surface as much as possible, and the machine should not be moved frequently; When moving over a long distance, try to use a trailer for transportation and avoid adjusting the excavator around a large area; When climbing a steep slope, it is not advisable to be too steep. When climbing a steep slope, the route can be extended to slow down the slope and prevent the track from stretching and pulling.

3. When turning an excavator, the excavator arm and the bucket lever arm should be manipulated to maintain a 90 °~110 ° angle, and the bottom circle of the bucket should be pressed against the ground. The two tracks at the front of the excavator should be raised to make them 10 cm~20 cm above the ground, and then the excavator should be operated to move on one side of the tracks. At the same time, the excavator should be operated to turn back, so that the excavator can turn (if the excavator turns left, the right track should be operated to move, and the rotation control lever should be operated to turn right). If the goal cannot be achieved once, you can operate it again using this method until the goal is achieved. This operation can reduce the friction between the rubber crawler track and the ground and the resistance of the road surface, making the track less susceptible to damage.

4. During excavator construction, the apron should be flat. When excavating stones with different particle sizes, the apron should be filled with smaller particles of crushed stone or stone powder or soil. The flat apron can ensure that the excavator’s tracks are evenly stressed and not easily damaged.

5. When maintaining the machine, the tension of the track should be checked, the normal tension of the track should be maintained, and the track tension cylinder should be promptly lubricated. When checking, first move the machine forward for a distance of approximately 4 meters and then stop.

Correct operation is the key to extending the service life of excavator rubber tracks.
