Advantages and precautions of rubber tracks

Rubber track is a crawler-type walking component with a certain number of metal and steel cords embedded in the rubber belt.

Lightweight rubber tracks have the following advantages:
(1) Fast
(2) Low noise
(3) Small vibration
(4) Large traction force
(5) Little damage to the road surface
(6) Small ground pressure
(7) The body is light in weight

1. Adjustment of tension

(1) The adjustment of tension has a great influence on the service life of china rubber tracks. Generally, machinery manufacturers will indicate the adjustment method in their instructions. The figure below can be used as a general reference.

(2) The tension force is too loose, resulting in: [A] detachment . [B] The guide wheel load-bearing wheel rides on the teeth. In severe cases, the supporting pulley and the car plate will be scraped, causing the core iron to fall off. When riding the gear, the local tension is too high and the steel cord is broken. [C] A hard object is bitten between the driving wheel and the guide wheel, and the steel cord is broken.

(3) If the tension force is too tight, the track will produce very large tension, resulting in elongation, pitch changes, and high surface pressure in certain places, causing abnormal wear of the core iron and the drive wheel. In severe cases, the core iron will break or Hooked out by worn drives.

2. Selection of working environment

(1) The operating temperature of rubber tracks is generally between -25 and +55°C.

(2) Chemicals, engine oil, and salt from seawater will accelerate the aging of the track. The track must be cleaned after use in such an environment.

(3) Road surfaces with sharp protrusions (such as steel bars, stones, etc.) can cause trauma to the rubber track.

(4) Road curbs, ruts or uneven pavement will cause cracks in the tread pattern on the ground side of the track edge. The steel cord can continue to be used if such cracks do not damage the steel cord.

(5) Gravel and gravel roads will cause early wear of the rubber surface in contact with the load-bearing wheels, forming small cracks. In severe cases, moisture intrudes, causing the core iron to fall off and the steel wire to break.
